Any film that has a soundtrack like this gets the thumbs up from me. Yes some of the acting was like a tired old oak, but watch it for what it thinks it is and that is a moderately entertaining film with some good sounds. If Jim Stienman has been involved then its well worth listening to. The soundtrack stands up on its own well enough. If I was to describe it to anyone who hasn't seen it, I would say it is a selection of different genre songs with some interesting, in parts, video backing, loosely linked together with some disjointed wooden dialogue, and equally week film footage.
My only regret is that no one chucked Rick Moranis Ellen Aim's manager and, Hah! boyfriend, on the third rail of the subway or in front of anything travelling at speed. That man is just a first class nerd who should never got into acting.
Mr Dafoe is his usual everyone will dislike me self. Playing the bad guy, what else? shows he at least, has some acting experience. Whilst his opo, Michael Pare who plays Tom Cody, tries his best bless him to be the hero of the day but it wasn't too arduous a task as the rest of the cast carried him. Obviously he'd been to the same acting school as Stalone.
Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) provides the eye candy but should have stuck to lip sinking great Steinman tracks, rather than acting.
There I think I've about slagged off most of the cast who should really just put this one down to experience and move on.
I would love to ask Mr Hill was he having a bad hair day when he contrived this film? He's done far better. Maybe just an off day!
Oh! yes, what the heck was the American equivalent R.E.M.E throwback mechanic all about? Was she just there to make up the numbers? No, I've got it now, she was the only one who could communicate with Cody, or wanted to.
Take it at face value, enjoy the sounds, get someone to wake you for the action scenes, but this is no blockbuster.
Thanks for the soundtrack Walter.
P.S. Loved The Warriors.

I finally saw "Streets of Fire" and enjoyed it. It did sort of drag in the middle but wow what a great soundtrack! The high energy and drama of the first part of the film just couldn't sustain itself for the whole storyline. and yeah what is up what that dancer in the club?!! I was convinced it was a dude until I checked on imdb and it was the woman who doubled in Flash Dance. Not a perfect film I think the Warriors was far superior by Walter but still a good effort and if you put the two films in a blender, I think you'd have the perfect rock opera fable.
