I just saw this movie for the first time. All of the neagtives brought up about the movie are ture but the sytle and feel of the movie make up for it. It reminded me of Jean Claude's Van Damme's Cyborg. The post nuclear war world. The viloence was pretty intense but part of the reason for that was that most of it takes place in a small apartment. The MARK 13 is one mean sob. I enjoyed the movie alot. The overall best part of the movie is the soundtrack. The music is haunting and fits perrfect. I am trying to find the soundtrack.

That is supremely awesome news, Andy! I just looked it up and it looks as though it ships with the Shok! comic that the movie is based on. I may have to import this since we here in the United States have no official release.

Hardware will receive an official UK region 2 release on 26th June 2009 in addition to a full 1080p Blu-ray release on the same day. They are both available for pre-order now; I've got my BD version on order!

I think that Henry & June was the first movie to get the NC-17 rating, but there was a handful of flicks back in 1990 that was making the MPAA nervous, among them was Hardware.

Wasn't this one of the movies that inspired the NC-17 rating? if I remember correctly, there were rumblings that this movie was originally going to get an X rating because of the violence which then caused the ratings people to come up with NC-17. It's been ages since this came out so I'm probably wrong...

wow I think I saw this movie a long time ago and fell asleep in the middle of it. I don't think I was bored with just ultra sleepy that night. I recall that it was a bit confusing plotline though. I'll have to check it out again.

Nice review. I have had this on my shelf for about two years but was never tempted to watch it until now. Added a link to the review on my news page and message board - www.post-apocalypse.co.uk
