For a long, long time I tried my hardest to put up this snobby horror hound exterior. I would piss and moan about slasher movies like they worst thing ever conceived. I was all about Fulci, baby! The real shit! Here’s the thing. I’m a horrible hypocrite and in the process of putting up that front, I denied myself the truth: a long running love affair with slasher movies. I don’t know when it happened, but at some point over the last ten or so years I decided that I really didn’t give a shit anymore and that fan status is for friendless teenagers starting flame wars in alt.horror.
I am a slasher fan and my favorite is Jason Voorhees.
That said, I love them all. Even the one in New York City. Even Jason X. Even god damn Freddy vs. Jason (Jason won, by the way – Ha!). No matter how preposterous the series became, I couldn’t get enough of the man in the mask. Through cryogernic freezings and electric jolts to his dead body, psychic chicks and a vengeful paramedic, I will always hand my money over to Jason. So despite 10 sequels, they’re doing another and I’m beginning to wonder if the old rumor that they’re going to stop at 13 has some truth to it.
Shock Till You Drop is reporting that the mask is going back on one more time with a targeted release of 2009 written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift who brought us Freddy vs. Jason. No word on a director yet. Where can you possibly go with this series? Jason has been in Freddy’s dreamworlds and in a spaceship, in the future! Where do you go from there? You can’t bring him back to Crystal Lake at this point, the guy has been to space! In the future! This mystery fuels my excitement. We’re so far beyond taking the series seriously anymore that I’m sure whatever they give us will be tongue in cheek and fun as hell.
Can’t wait.

Frankly, they can’t make enough F13’s for this man. Wasn’t a huge FREDDY VS. JASON fan (they lost me with the pinball sound f/x as Freddy was bouncing around the room) but I loved both JASON GOES TO HELL and JASON X. Bring ‘em on!

My bets are that they are going to be sending Jason either- back in time where he will have to fight himself or someone like Jack the Ripper -or- umm,, i had something but the phone rang… yeah.. back in time then.

if they make freddy vs jason vs ash i swear to christ it is going to be the most retarded film besides jason x and jason goes to hell. i mean come on whoever produced and directed jason x and jason goes to hell ruined the series right. jason vs freddy was pretty creative i liked that but there is no other vs. its not horror warfare like there trapped in another dimension and they fight there way to show whos better. jason x was retarded because it was almost like star wars combined with jason totally disappointing by the way. freddy vs jason was a tie also. and jason goes to hell.. with the stupid heart it reminded me of slither almost but jason talked in that and he doesnt talk. plus he blew up what was that come on people

Your ALL retarted. Of course they won’t be continuing after him being in space (I haven’t seen the whole series but, I read about it on various websites) They are remaking it. This means they are going back to the beginning and doing the first one ALL OVER AGAIN! Have none of you ever even seen a friggin’ remake??? JEEZ!

Hi, Retard. Thanks for coming by. Why don’t you go back and take a real good look at the first Friday the 13th. A real close look. See, this remake that’s in the works puts Jason in the first movie. Since you haven’t seen them all, I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt instead of tearing into your ignorance. There is no Jason in the first movie. He didn’t come along until the sequel. The killer is his mother. Since a remake generally maintains the basic premise of the movie its ruining, you would think that they would include that whole idea of Pamela Voorhees and her revenge on Camp Crystal Lake, but they’re not. As a matter of fact, Friday 11 sounds like it’s just another entry into the series.
There hasn’t been any real continuity from movie to movie anyway so this remake really sounds more like another sequel or a retcon at the very least. They can call it a remake all they like, but how do you remake a movie that remade itself a million times in sequels.
Also, it’s you’re not your.
