I remember watching this and getting sucked into it, Ghostwatch definitely left a lasting impression on me, (I found it very difficult to sleep that night - I was only 12). Watching it now you can definitely tell it's a hoax but the presenters they used were big BBC personalities (parkie being a well a respected interviewer
and Mike Smith & Sarah Greene were the Husband and Wife darlings of day time TV) which lent to the credibility of it all, along with the BBC's obsession with live specials. There was a lot of fuss surrounding it at the time, which I think mostly came from a lad with mental health problems killing himself, convinced that pipes was after him (not to sure about this it was a while back), which in turn led to the BBC never trying anything that interesting again (they received a lot of flak for it). Which was a shame because Haloween television after Ghostwatch got more and more boring. British Television nowadays though is mostly the same pish you get everywhere else but back in the day it was pretty special. If you fancy some great different British Television try finding anything by Chris Morris (Jam - the darkest sketch show ever made - or any of the Brasseye Specials - especialy Paedogeddon) or Charlie Brooker (Screenwipe, Newswipe or Gameswipe - check youtube) and the genius that is in the thick of it (if your want see how farcical British politics is).
Loving your website (a lot of the films you feature are dear to my heart), I have a lot time for it.
