Funny Games red-band trailer online now.
Dec 6th, 2007 by Bryan White
The Funny Games remake trailer is up now and I’ll tell you what, it looks as fucked up as the original movie.
The only thing I can speak on here since it looks like the same movie I just reviewed a couple of days ago is that the song in the trailer, in no way an indication of the final product, is a Marilyn Manson song. Maybe I’m jaded but I just don’t find the same intimidation in his music that people still seem to find even to this day. The original movie intros with the abrasive sax-metal freakout of Naked City. So why not hit people with a sucker punch of the same intensity? I can think of a dozen grindcore bands that would fuck people up but good in the midst of all this depravity. Pig Destroyer, anyone?
Anyway, I’m seeing a lot of people warning against spoilers with the trailer but you really have to believe me. Seeing someone get shot in that clip means nothing. The final product may infuriate you as it did me. There are no spoilers here. The real spoiler would be to see what happens after that dude gets shot. The trailer requires some age verification, but we’re all adults here, right?

I was thinking more along the lines of Excruciating Terror or old Napalm Death.
apparently entering my name as ‘rappo clappo’ gets me a free ticket to cantwatchthetrailersville.
Did you try Devastatin’ Dave The Turntable Slave?
yeah I’m still ticked off about that movie’s final scenes! but I got to give it some props for getting such a strong emotional response from me. All your expectations are thrown out the door throughout this film. We have been so conditioned to expect things to happen a certain way and when someone breaks those and puts the viewer under the magnifying glass it becomes a rather uncomfortable place to be. Not an enjoyable experience but a interesting reflection back on ourselves and our society perception of violence. By the way I hope I’m not giving anything away but I had a similar response with “The Mist” though that was more sad and depressing not anger but still expectations were changed drastically.
The Mist was awesome.
