Trailer: My Name Is Bruce

My Name Is Bruce TrailerI may have talked some trash about Bruce a while back in one of my Woeful Tales posts but I have to admit, I’m still a fan. The one project that I’ve been eagerly awaiting since I first heard about it is upcoming comedy of errors, My Name Is Bruce wherein Campbell plays himself, kidnapped by townfolk under siege by a monster. They kidnap him because who else could possibly be prepared to fight the supernatural than that guy from Evil Dead? Bruce, being an actor and not a shotgun/chainsaw wielding badass winds up hurting more people than he helps in the process. It sounds like a regular laff riot.

The production has been a long one, or so it seems, but I expect to find in the aftermath something unexpected, a movie that takes me by surprise the way that Bubba Ho-Tep did. Bruce has been showing pieces of the movie on his recent college lecture tour but the trailer has finally hit. Thanks to an email this morning from Steve at Lost Highway, I bring this clip to you.

Hey no problem. I saw the feature on bloody-disgusting.com and passed it along to ya. I’m actually surprised how hilarious this movie looks. I can’t wait to see it. Not sure if it will be a direct to DVD or theater release either way I’m all over it. The production value looks pretty low-scale but hey it’s all about the substance.

The stuff he’s been directing has been on the low end in terms of production values, but the ideas are there.

argh. they removed the video. I have no idea why. I searched all over and can’t find it. Must be they didn’t want people to see it yet.
