Jeffrey Combs to star in The Dunwich Horror… kind of.

You’re not a horror fan if you don’t like Jeffrey Combs. He plays the perfect weirdo and my con encounter with the guy confirmed my suspicion that it’s not much of a stretch for him to play those roles. Nice guy. Knows a lot about paper stock.
Dread Central brought down some news this morning about Combs starring in an upcoming adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s ‘The Dunwich Horror’. I know, right? Awesome! Combs’ entire career is practically predicated on his Lovecraft related roles. It’s really too bad that he rolls out to cons with so much Trek merchandise. Combs and Stuart Gordon go hand in hand and when they do Lovecraft, they make beautiful music together. But there’s some bad news and when I say bad, man… It’s bad.
Though, I mention Stuart Gordon, the guy isn’t involved in this project at all. No one even remotely related to Gordon or Brian Yuzna is involved. This production, entitled The Darkest Evil, is coming from Bullet Films, a subsidiary of Blackthorn Industries who are a new production company spawned from that blackest pit of mediocrity known as The Asylum. So I guess you can expect a very loose reinterpretation of one of Lovecraft’s flagship stories, incomplete special effects and gratuitous nudity.
What’s my problem with gratuitous nudity, you ask?
I got standards, baby.

Gratuitous nudity if fine.
Except in adaptation of Lovecraft!
What makes you so sure that it will have incomplete special effects and nudity? I did some digging and those people LEFT the Asylum. If the Asylum was producing it, I would be inclined to agree.
