I have a real hard time understanding how they could do this movie in a modern setting since foreign relations is such a touchy subject these days not to mention that there really isn't an international boogeyman that filmmakers could use to put a face on the enemy in a Red Dawn remake. My brother and i spent our childhood just waiting for the U.S.S.R. to invade. I am not a big fan of remakes but I always said if i had a big MGM budget that we would remake Red Dawn. As far as the time period I hope they keep it based in the 80's. If the plot is based in the present day, MGM better take in account the border fence that Bush is trying to build on the Mexican boarder. this fence would have little to no impact to the invading forces from South America but, it's real important that notice how fucking stupid it is. Well MGM you got your hands full don't let us down on this one.
