Cinema Suicide

I never thought that I’d applaud a fucking sequel, particularly a sequel to a franchise that started out as outrageous as Maniac Cop but it’s been slow up in here these last few days and I just don’t have the heart to report on all the god damn remakes going around right now. I just don’t give a shit. But this is Bill Lustig and Larry Cohen getting back to work on their baby and it’s about fucking time we got something culty and gory that isn’t a fucking remake.

Even if it is just a sequel.

Fango reported that at a recent screening of the first two Maniac Cop flicks, Bill got on the mic and announced that he had won back the sequel rights to the movie and that he and Larry would be working on a new script for Maniac Cop 4. It’s 15 years late but William Lustig makes crazy god damn movies and by crazy I mean awesome.  Even Uncle Sam.
