Zombies 2.0 – Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated

I’m a huge advocate of this idea of collaborative art on the internet.  Current technology is in such a state that it breaks down barriers like never before.  People from all over the world have the opportunity to network in entirely new ways and create new paradigms in the art world.  Lost Zombies are out there doing their thing, crowdsourcing a zombie documentary from pieces of submitted horror sent in by the people taking part in their website.  Now there’s a new kid on the block.

Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated takes advantage of the botched copyright situation for Night of the Living Dead and has proposed an art project that just about anyone can get involved in.  They’re reproducing Night of the Living Dead, shot for shot, with animation.  You can be a part of this. There are only three rules.

  • It must be original artwork, your own stuff
  • It must match the original soundtrack
  • It must be in black and white

The producers will piece the movie together, scene for scene from the submitted pieces.  Artists retain ownership of their work. If you think you make the cut and meet the September 12th deadline, get over to their site and throw your hat in the ring! You’ll also find details there on how you can find a copy of this when it becomes available.

In the meantime, here’s a rough cut of what they have so far:

I know! I also loved the quick manga bit. I seriously cannot wait for this to come out.
