Even though the news came down today that Jackie Earle Haley, fresh off his turn as Rorcshach in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen adaptation, wound up cast in the lead as Freddy Krueger in the upcoming Platinum Dunes reboot of A Nightmare On Elm Street, actor Christopher Johnson had his eyes on the part and made this promo clip to sell himself as a possible candidate for the role. It clearly didn’t work but this is one sharp fan film. The production value is exceptional for something made by a struggling actor. He doesn’t really look like Freddy Krueger to me but I particularly like the way that he seems to constantly be burning. It’s a neat effect. I can only hope that the remake is half as good as this clip. Thanks to Fan Cinema Today for spotting this.

Not bad, not bad at all. Too bad Platinum Dunes will screw this up like every one of their remakes so far.

Disagree. The Texas Chainsaw remake was excellent. In fact, get ready to scoff and be blown away, but I like it better than the original. Yep. There it is.
Is this because of Jessica Biel running around in a tank top, soaking wet half of the movie?
Could be.

You can’t see me right now, Rich, but I’m shaking my head in stern disapproval.

This guy should have been freddy or at least had a part in the visual effects department. This trailer is bad ass. I have been watching the films since I was 5 years old. I am almost an expert on the films myself. I have read the script for the film and I must say that this film will not be worth the money I would pay in the theater to see it nor the time it woul take to download the bootleg copy. But this fanfilm, now that is a different story. Hey Chris Johnson, you make your remake and try to sell copies of it. You’ll probably make more money than Platnum Dunes will. lol
