It is clearly filmed with low budget film at points, and has some scenes that I either went over my head or just weren’t funny, but HotRod might be the funniest character I’ve seen in a movie in a while, and overall I found it full of laughs. Well worth my time and money.

I actually purchased this movie, thinking that it was going to be at least marginally competent, and after 15 minutes, it was obvious that making it all the way through the picture was going to be a painful process (which it was). I just don’t see how you think that Phelps is going to make it within bigger circles in Hollywood. He hasn’t even displayed that he can assemble a halfway decent script.
