These days, Dennis Heaton is known for writing the Canadian zombie as a pet movie, Fido. A surprisingly heartfelt, very funny, very original take on the extremely tired zombie thing that’s going on now. But back in 2006, he wrote and directed this short, Headshot, which has just popped up on Vimeo. It is such a great idea and very funny.
The premise, a really bad actor and equally dim witted dude turns up to a snuff film under the impression that he’s there for an audition. Things don’t go as planned for him or the killers.

Hey, Bryan —
Glad you liked the short. A six part web sitcom I made appeared online on Monday. It’s called MY PAL SATAN. Episodes 1 and 2 are already up and running. The next four drop every Monday and Thursday for the next two weeks.
Back to the filth farm.

Having just seen the documentary “Snuff” (first result of web search>Naked City>Lydia Lunch>Richard Kern>blah blah blah>transgressive cinema blah>Google Vid search>result 1= preview. Or thereabouts. But I saw this 1st and was laughing out loud> watched all of above documentary , got reeeeeeeeeelly disturbed on many many many levels worse than any horror movie ever, had to come back to watch this so I can sleep this week. Thanks for that by itself even independent of your work. Will definitely have to investigate more; meanwhile thanks for putting levity into the trite and/or astonishing horrors real or fictional (fido = shawn of the dead as sleepless in seattle= you’ve got mail)
