Great review, spectacular film. I have seen this movie about 3 times and I still notice something else every time. To be honest though, there is no reference nor indication of coke abuse in the film, only alcohol.

Ink, for me, is a definite 10/10. The only thing it lacked was the budget to do it better than it was done. I am one of those people that can look past the minor flaws in a film to see the bigger picture, but I know there are a lot of people out there that cannot. For those of you that cannot look past poor camera work on fight scenes, some minor acting troubles, and a few bad/unneeded lines I do not recommend this movie for you. But if you are a dreamer, like me, then you can and will receive a major thrill from this beautiful, creative movie.

I'm surprised no one's said yet that the dream world storyline is a metaphor for the real world storyline. It could have been that nothing in the dream world is actually taking place but it was all just a metaphor for the emotional and mental battles of the characters. John has to sacrifice the life of his daughter to climb the corporate ladder--that is, join the ranks of the incubi. I think that "Ink" was a prediction rather than a time traveling figure, a warning of where he is headed, and possibly how he viewed himself subconsciously during the story. Liev is the manifestation of John's memory of his dead wife, and the other storytellers are John's conscience--the good in him.

Anyway, I loved this movie. Yes, the acting was iffy at times but I was too distracted by the story to notice much. I also must say, I did love how the dream world character interactions were straight out of old fantasy movies (the overly dramatic dialog, the facial expressions, the body language and kneeling, etc) while in the real world, the characters behaved more conventionally.

I'm really glad this movie was made as an indie. I think big-budget production would have mutilated it.

hahaha love how sad the world is that people need to argue over every minor detail in films that then lead to flaws in peoples lifes . bla bla bla.. for a cheap film this is not bad, would have been better off rewriting the script a bit as the dialogue was tedious at times and some scenes unnecessary. the fast paced editing was sometimes pointless too but if it was their intention for it to annoy or distract it worked. for anyone that loves film or storytelling, or art in general i would recommend this film.

At least you're not intentionally insulting posters. You think you are so superior that anyone who disagrees with you is a moron. That is pure arrogance and there is no point talking to you. No need to respond, I'm not wasting anymore time with you.

Christianity inspired Kevin Smith to write Dogma, I'm pretty sure the movie bends Christian logic quite a bit and yet, that movie directly refers to Christianity. The movie 'Ink' from what I remember, almost NEVER directly refers to Christianity and doesn't follow their logic. The movie had symbols of Christianity, it's not trying to convert anyone or win an award for accuracy. Its an artist interpretation of the world around ours using the concepts of life, physics, reality, religion and the inspiration from all of the above to portray that world.

Just because a painter paints a sunset, doesn't mean he has to paint it the way he see's it directly. Have you ever heard of absrtact? ... Art or even thinking? Its obvious you haven't.

Chris, I hate the fact that I have to baby-step you through common sense understanding. Typing this post just annoyed me completely.

So do us all a favor, use your reproductive appendage as a bungie cord from a tall building and never reproduce!
