Yukie Kawamura was good as the lead but IMO the prettiest girl in the movie was Aya Nishisaki (though she only had a small role). Aya’s a fashion model not an actress

Try a google search for Ganguro.. it’s an actual fashion fad, though taken to the extreme in this movie.. pretty much like everything else in it.

Nice writeup. I was a fan of some of the (slightly) earlier entries from this genre such as Meatball Machine and Machine Girl. Then Tokyo Gore Police just blew those out of the water and I feel it was the pinnacle of the crazy gory Japanese horror film. However with this VGvsFG movie I just couldn’t get into it.
It was an interesting movie, but seems more of a ‘lets make a crazy gore flick with lots of mentalness because they seem to sell well in the US / UK markets’.
OK there was a lot of commentary on their own culture in here – I assume the group of girls ‘blacked up’ up as is some sort of statement about the influence of Western culture in Japan, but as a Westerner myself that was just awkward to watch.
I’d recommend Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police over this movie really, but maybe I needed more beer inside me while watching it!
