What better person to make Dune with experience using these themes. What could have been…

On another note, can you imagine if Lynch had directed Jedi? What he would have done with Jabba’s lair or those fucking silly ewoks. And the final confrontation between Vader and Luke could have been on par with some of the horrific imagery of Lynch’s Lost Highway. But alas, Lucas selected the “safe” director to tie things up nice & neat in he Star Wars saga.
