About
Jun 11th, 2007 by Bryan White
Cinema Suicide began as most movie blogs do. One man, his many opinions and an ability to write that is questionable at best. Since then, movie reviews made room for the latest news in horror, exploitation and cult movies and soon after, new writers came on board to join the fun. What you can expect to find is everything you could possibly want to know from DVD releases and reviews to trivia about movies you may or may not be familiar with. At the bottom line, Cinema Suicide aims to reach beyond the shallow interactions of your typical blog and create a community that can come together around a concept that we all have in common: A love of really crappy movies.
A celebration of cheap thrills.
Bryan White, Editorbryan@cinema-suicide.com
Bryan had the great fortune of moving to a town in Massachusetts in the early 80’s when TVs were still tuned with rabbit ears and the UHF band spiced up their lineup of reruns with movies intended to appeal to the more base emotions of the human experience. Best of all, a saturday afternoon double-feature on WLVI in Boston provided him with an introduction to men in rubber lizard suits, stomping on Japanese cities as well as vampires with British accents. By night, psychopath vigilantes cleaned up New York and masked killers in the forest stalked barely dressed coeds. An early exposure to trashy movies shaped him to become the person he is today. A man still lamenting the loss of his VHS bootleg collection and reminiscing about videotape the same way an obsessed rock fan would talk about vinyl over CDs.
David White, Writer, Marketingdave@cinema-suicide.com
Dave finds deep cultural significance in the works the films of American International Pictures. He also harbors a freaky love for Vincent Price. Because of these qualifications, he writes at length about the MGM line of Midnite Movies DVDs. In or out of print, he’s nearing on having the entire collection and reporting back here with his findings. I haven’t yet been able to sell him on the virtues of Hammer Films, though. When he’s not watching double features of cheap exploitation movies from the 60’s, Dave manages the business end of Cinema Suicide. He keeps the books and makes deals. Would you like to partner with Cinema Suicide on an upcoming project? Dave is the one to contact.
