I've given The Event a couple of weeks now and I'm pretty sure next week will be its last in my TV rotation. It's just not terribly interesting and I really fucking hate the LOST tactics they're using to keep you coming back. Every single advertisement cliffhanger is vague enough to drag the tension out to next week and I just don't think I have it in me to watch another show like that. LOST really soured me to the entire idea when it turned out that the show was a giant con game.

Fucking Dexter, though. I was pretty sure that Season 4's finale was going to be a high water mark for that show and that there was no way they could adequately follow it up but they did. Big time! What a premier! It was so heavy. Also, I'm pretty sure the funeral parlor location was the same funeral home from Six Feet Under. Cannot wait to see where this season goes. This is very easily the best show on TV in the longest time.

Fringe was unbelievable, too! It seems like the show has this pattern where the first half of the season goes slow and then half way through breaks free and kicks ass. I nearly didn't catch on to this one because the early episodes were so boring but I'm glad I stuck with it. It is very seriously the spiritual successor to The X-Files. The premier was great, this season is going to be seriously strange. Looks like they're pulling in ideas from conspiracy theory as well as ideas about The Singularity in the alternate Earth. Great stuff!

As for Montauk, it's my favorite piece of conspiracy theory. That bitch has everything! Nazis, mind control, teleportation, alternate universes, weird-ass science, secret government projects. It just goes on and on. There is a positively crazy series of videos on Youtube about it. One of the involved parties maintains that his body houses the transferred consciousness of an older brother who jumped from a teleported warship in hyperspace during an experiment in 1943, only to appear in a location also in hyperspace from 1983. It is seriously fucking insane. But awesome!
